We aquire two Cutter-Class gunships to add to our Ever-Expanding fleet.
We modify them to look nearly identical.
While journe ying through the void we have an Emergency Warp Core Breech!
Zarathustra walks into the plasma field and fixes it, gaining the admiration of the crew and saving every soul aboard the Scion Of The Void from a fate Worse Than Death.
As we enter the cloud that hides the Procession of the Damned we detect many moving bodies circling a massive gravity well. We pass meteors, ruins of ancient ships, dead space hulks and the damaged remains of planets that are eaten away like an apple full of worms.
We are amazed to realize that some unimaginably massive structure contains this sun, catching all of it’s rays and letting none escape into the void. It is a Black Sun. As we approach, we detect incoming bodies. They clumsily try to close on us as we nimbly evade their tiny ships and asteroid based vessels. We blast them out of the void with great prejudice.
We are hailed by the decendents of Rath Umboldt that were left here to breed and be preyed on by the hollow men that dwell here. They have managed to eek out a bare and base existence for the last forty years at the edge of the known universe, far from the light of the Emperor.
We pick them up for information and immediately begin indoctrinating them with Soothing Ludovenko #47. The Priestess exhorts them to loyalty and faith. They give us info on the hollow men that infest this system, feeding upon the souls of men.
We get closer and get another energy reading. We find a vessel that would make a fine prize, but as we approach we find that it is being taken apart by the Almighty God-Emperor. We attack a group of 20 or so. We notice that as their pressure suits are breeched they do not de-pressurize. These men are already dead.
As we destroy them we see that they are made of stardust and decomposing rags.
They offer more powerful resistance than we had expected. The Captain is the first to go down, horribly slaughtered by the plasma torches of the Hollow Men. Then the navigator Amun
is blown across the room as his arm is cauterized at the shoulder. Zarathustra charges into the melee and protects the broken burning body of the Captain.
We slay the deathless ones in ever increasing numbers as the come crawling out of every hole in the ship.
We flee back to the Cutter and save the navigator and the captain.
